Another Tips 'n Stories ..

okie..i'm gonna tell things that happened to me during service yesterday..it's another long story..

first of all, my group is serving lunch in Lakeside for lunch and in One5 for dinner..'n we are having mid term exam for our service in Lakeside..so we are going to be assessed by the stagier ( supervisor) there..Stagier is 2 to 3 person that have completed their 2nd or 3rd year 'n are doing their internship as a supervisor in the school..they will take turn to supervise us each week..

anyway, I am not sure how I perform in Lakeside..I am doing the service station..everything should be alright..at least that's what I think..juz tt I am a little bit nervous at the beginning..

well, the long stories are when I'm serving in One5 French Training Restaurant during dinner..

My guests are 3 BBA Students from Vietnam..well, as usual, I am not very good in opening wine bottle..so in the end, when I am almost suceeding in opening the training bottle ( without anything inside the bottle ) , I cut my thumb...this is the 2nd time that I cut my finger when opening training wine bottle..lol..'n this time is worse than last time..cos I think I cut it quite deep this time round..'n I can't stop the bleeding..so I have to seek help from the stagier in the end..well, my service cloth are dirtied by my blood..anyway, in the end she help me to cover my wound and I continue serving my guests..'n guess what , they order white wine..lol..'n I was thinking ..omg.I have to open another bottle 'n this time with the real wine inside..I'm nt sure whether I can do it.. but in e end, I managed to open it lar..I was so damn happie lor..'n I keep the cork..the 1st cork that I can really opened =P

Anyway, it was my first time serving wine in bottle to the guests, too..cos although I served wine before ..but previously my guests ordered open wines, which is less complicated..cos for white wine, I need to get the ice bucket, put ice cube 'n water inside it, 'n put the wine bottle inside it..well, I need to show the host (the person who order the wine) whether that is the correct wine he wanted, 'n then let him tried first, before serving his guests 'n served him last..lots of procedure..but I think that is good..I mean although complicated, it let me learnt a lot more than usual..I am happie about that though..

Because of the wine order, I served slower than the rest..cos when I start serving the starter, the other table maybe has finished their starter course..everything was okie le..then when I want to get the dessert from the pastry room, I realised that there is no more dessert..lol..'n the chef is almost leaving..then I told him I need another 3 plates of dessert..'n he asked my to get 3 plates from the kitchen for him..Well, I didn't know where the plates are put..cos students seldom have accessed to the kitchen..but in the end I manage to get it with some help lar..so he made 3 new desserts..the desserts are different from what is written on the menu..cos the one on the menu are finished..no more liao..

so I think I let my guests to wait for quite sometime for the dessert..when I ask whether they want any coffee or tea, the girl said she wanted double espresso..while the 2 guys said that they want to finish the white wine first..so I made the double espresso for her..when I present the bill, they give me 2 Francs for tips..lol..

anyway, after I closed the table liao, the other 2 guys ordered a black tea 'n a ristretto..but I already close the table..not my fault though..so I told the stagier..in the end she asked me to make it for them 'n I don't have to register it in the MICROS (cashier)...

what a long service yesterday..yeah..my table was the last one last night..I was already tired because of that..'n during closing/ clearing ..my group really make me damn fed up..some of them didn't know what to do de lehz..not until I remind them..some dunno how to initiate..'n some dun even know how to help others..some do things very slowly..there is juz no team work at all..I was totally angry at that time lar..because we are only given certaing time for all the clearing stuff, like doing the mise en place, changing table cloth, cleaning the coffee machine..'n all other things...yeah..my face is already black liao lor..but I tried to bear with it until the service ended..

in the end, when I juz stepped into my room..I can't stand it liao..I cried immediately after I closed the door..lol..'n my friends are stunned..lol..shu hua, jia ning 'n adeline were in my room at that time..yeah..'n I told them all my stories..

that's all..today damn tired 'n sleepy..feel like sleeping during class..lucky today the lessons end early..I only have two 2 hr lesson today..'n all lessons ended at 12pm..now is resting time..haha..later still need to go some boring presentation..

Btw, I am going for interview tmr in Geneva..haha..so excited 'n nervous..I haven't prepare for it yet..gonna prepare tonight..wish me all the best ba..
