yesterday morning, the new manager ehm call him mr.c , came to me 'n asked whether i have difficulty selling things other than the menu on monday..cos i was working for service on monday 'n he was not..in a simpler word, what he means was," why yesterday (mon) very few customers order drinks, wine, coffee?" then i told him that yeah, it was true, yesterday (mon) lots of customers asked for une carafe d'eau..the tap water which is free..then he said..orh because the office saw the sale on mon 'n wanna know what went wrong..k lar..i think i know what went wrong..but of course i didn't say out or tell anybody..juz my side of thinking..i'm also nt 100% sure..

yesterday, jenn who usually works in the kitchen, came out to help me in service..because i said i'm worried that there will be a lot of ppl coming for lunch since it was raining..then there is this table of two asking for une carafe d'eau..then she brought out the 1 litre carafe..that's a lot for two..i don't blame her cos she dunno..so i told her, nxt time if only 2 ppl ask, bring the 5 dl carafe..cos first, we only have one 1 litre carafe, if u give that to 2 ppl, later if got 3 ppl come 'n ask, how? right..second, if we give the big carafe to customers, other customers will see 'n ask for the same thing, too..it's like 'encouraging' them to ask for une carafe d'eau..which actually we discourage them to do so because we will earn less..

then in the end, turns out that day really quite a few tables asking for une carafe d'eau..'n the worst is..there is this table of three..they actually brought their own drinks from outside..which is actually FORBIDDEN..i was quite angry lar..if only my french is better, i will tell them for sure..argh..

k lar..doing internship here, i really learn lots of things..other than serving ppl..i learnt to be a good salesman, too..have to be responsible of the sale of the restaurant..yeah..i think i really gain some experience while working..like if customer order water..then i'll ask them..plat ou gazeous? so that they think of no other choice..'n choose one of them..ha ha =P..i also learn lots of other things like recommending the wine 'n beer that we have..

actually i've to admit that i am quite lucky that i've got a good working place..yeah..a company that works by rules..they won't mistreat the employees..'n really give me a lot of opportunities to learn..
